I love painting still lifes because it is a way for me to assess my technical skills and look for areas of improvement. Still-life painting requires patience and intense observation, which in my opinion makes it some of the most precise and rewarding subject matter. I enjoy challenging myself by painting reflective surfaces, and will even join in on painting the still lifes I set up for my students.  ​
